Completed on a true beachside site, this home takes cues from the coastal site in which it sits - simple clean lines, durable finishes, and a calm material palette that let the views do the heavy lifting
The View
The concept was all about form following the view: The building is shaped to capture the primary outlooks of the ocean while still pulling in secondary water glimpses as you move through the plan.
Outcome
From the street, the home is intentionally quiet and plain - a restrained, almost blank facade that turns your attention inward, then outward to the horison once inside. The internal spaces then flow seamlessly from a cascading timber deck in to a private sheltered courtyard - a protected outdoor space designed for total relaxation which includes a multi person sauna, stainless steel hot tub, outdoor kitchen and fire pit.
